Lemon essential oil is cold-pressed from the outer rind of Citrus limon — not distilled, which is why it retains the fresh, bright quality of the fruit rather than the cooked, jammy character that heat would produce. It takes approximately 45 lemons to produce a single 10ml bottle of lemon essential oil.
The primary active compounds are limonene (up to 70%), which gives it its characteristic citrus scent and powerful antioxidant and antibacterial properties, along with beta-pinene, gamma-terpinene, and citral.
How to use it
Add a few drops to an ultrasonic diffuser, dilute in a carrier oil for topical use (start low, 1–2%), or blend into your own rollerball and room-spray recipes. Always patch-test first.
